The text the JW's use talks about mixing blood. Ironically, this happens naturally during pregnancy. The babies and mother's blood mingle. This is the cause of the "blue baby" syndrome in second and later pregnancies where a previous fetus gifted anti-bodies against other blood types to his mother.

So it's all based on scientific ignorance and interpretation of a specific sacred text.

Thank you, "The Atheist", for mentioning the usually forgotten rights of the other parties, in this case, the new baby and any other children the woman had.

The tables are turning. We're seeing more homicide charges against cultists who kill their children by withholding medical attention. Eventually, the Supreme Court will rule that the "free exercise" clause of the First Amendment does not excuse murder.

I like questioning. God gave me a brain, and I try to use it where ever possible.

I was a strong athiest all my life and spent a lot of time picking holes in religion. After years of such questioning and critiquing, I had to conclude that god exists. It is the only complete conclusion on offer, and hence I could not conclude otherwise.

I should not hold back from making that conclusion simply because I don't like it, or I don't want to believe it, or I wish it wasn't the case. I can procrastinate with more years of undecidedness. But in the end, if I must make a conclusion, I must conclude that god exists. Hmmmm.

But I encourage people to keep questioning always, as long as you make up your mind at some point before you die.
