For centuries mans' belief in god made him beast . Religion on the other hand made him ruthless blood-sucker and this fact is undoubtedly known to all. But the humanity proved to be the ultimate fact.

Disputable. Columbus set sail for the New World with navigational calculations based on the assumption of a spherical earth. Generally, a little research (google search on Snope's forums) reveals a lot of evidence for either side: http://msgboard.snopes.com/message/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/102/t/000444/p/1.html)

The fact is, however, that the shape of the earth was easily confirmed in 1961, and many times over, by humans in space seeing the planet.

My overlying point, though, would be that what was taken for an 'undisputed fact' in the 1500's, when many people were barely aware of a world beyond the village gates; should not take the same prestige as what we hold as an 'undisputed fact' in the 21st century, when we know so much more about the world. Perhaps in 500 years people will laugh at our ignorance of, say, time travel, or string theory, or the nudist camps on Mars. But that's a side argument

<strong>The Investigator</strong> - I don't believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the authenticity of the information in the bible has ever been completely validated. The parting of the Red Sea, for example, I don't recall ever seeing proof that event ever happened.

As for Lee Strobel, I've read some of his work. He's the Christian apologetic's apologetic, and his "arguments" and approach don't hold up whatsoever under any amount of scrutiny. Much like Dawkins and "The God Delusion", only those who want to be convinced will be convinced.

Oh, and a book written thousands of years ago would count as evidence to most people whose life work is testing the authenticity of age-old documents. It would take too long to put into this comment all that I would like to say, but it takes up an entire chapter in "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. By the way, have you noticed how many books Lee Strobel has written? I think that sometime he should just have a compilation, instead of 20 books out on different arguments posed against Christian turned around and pointed back, after being answered satisfactorily, at Atheism. I'm not as good with words, though, as the 10 or 20 college professors he interrogates on the subject, so please don't just read my comments, buy the book. Or better yet, I'll send you a free copy of any of them if you email me at maddogmixing@aol.com.

Just so you know, people were mocked for believing that the world was round. The world being flat was an indisputable fact. Just as you say. But that's just a side argument.

Thanks for your reply. I will never accept something from nothing, order from chaos, or intricate design from random flux. The very idea is unprecedented any where else. Design is evdent to me everywhere I look. I guess we all see what we want to see, and disregard what we dislike. I don\'t accept scientific theories at face value without question becuase the majority begin with the premise that there is no God. This is what our universities teach and not because it\'s a fact, but because that segment of society is by and large under the influence of secular humanism. My feeling is that it is they who can not handle the truth and that it is they who are most intolerant. I don\'t dicredit or devalue ALL science, I just don\'t worship it. It\'s human, it can be wrong, and it has its own varied agendas. It\'s \
