Reading is reading--the sames excuses. Whenever apologist don't realize they have no feet, they quickly say that you're doing it wrong. Obviously, you weren't holding your mouth right.

I'm not looking for theological truth. Just THE truth. And that book has given me no answers.

I think the question is do you know how to read the bible?

The Bible is not a work of science it is a work of theology. Neither is it a work of history, though history is an compent of a theological tract, in the same way society, geo-politics, culture, literature, drama and aesthetics are components of what makes up a theological work.

I am dumbfounded by detractors who seem ignorant to what theology is; as to how it is that it is constructed. Do you seriously believe that the book of Genesis was intended to be a scientific account of our origins as a species or that 'truth' is merely scientific? (science understood in either is phenomenal or instrumental sense) Do you understand what a theological truth is? How 'truth' is communicated theologically?
You seem to read a religous tract the same way you would an account of the moon landing or a break in at the bakery.
